Description
It is a sterile, isotonic, nonpyrogenic viscoelastic solution of highly purified, non-inflammatory, 2% hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose (HPMC) with a high molecular weight greater than 80,000 daltons.
Characteristics
It is an ophthalmic surgical aid for use in anterior segment surgery. Due to its viscoelastic properties, it can be used as an ophthalmic surgical aid to protect the corneal endothelium from possible damage Used as a clinical aid to keep ocular tissues separated.. Easily removed after surgery, thus minimizing the risk of trabecular obstruction that could intensify the increase in intraocular pressure following surgical trauma.
Indications
It is indicated for use as an ophthalmic surgical aid in anterior segment surgical procedures, such as: Intraocular Lens implantation, Keratoplasty, Cataract extraction surgery for glaucoma and perforation trauma. It maintains a deep chamber during anterior. Segment. Surgery and thereby allows for more efficient manipulation with less trauma to the corneal endothelium and other ocular tissues. The viscoelasticity of it helps the vitreous face to be pushed back, thus preventing formation of postoperative flat chamber.
How supplied
It is a sterile, viscoelastic solution supplied in 2ml.prefilled glass syringe or 3ml./5ml in vial. The sterility expiration date is printed on the outer package label. It may be stored at room temperature and does not require refrigeration.
